How Bihar DA Arrears are Estimated
When a revised DA rate becomes effective from an earlier date, the difference between the old DA amount and revised DA amount may need to be calculated for the applicable period.
DA Arrears Calculation Example
Old DA: ₹23,200
New DA: ₹24,000
Monthly Difference: ₹800
Estimated 4-Month Arrears: ₹3,200
This is only a simple example. If Basic Pay changed during the arrears period, each salary period should be calculated separately.
Basic Pay Can Change During the Arrears Period
This calculator assumes the same Basic Pay for every month entered. Actual arrears may differ if Basic Pay changed because of annual increment, promotion, pay fixation, retirement or another service event.
In such cases, calculate each Basic Pay period separately and add the results.
Basic Pay Revision
Annual increment during the arrears period can change the DA amount payable for later months.
Pay Fixation
Promotion or revised pay fixation can require the arrears period to be split into different Basic Pay amounts.
